Lesson 1- Tires & Wheels2 Weeks (50-minute class periods)
Lesson 2- Tire Pressure Monitor1 Week (50-minute class periods)
Describe the purpose and history of TPMS, describe how the indirect TPMS works, describe how the direct TPMS works, know where and how TPMS sensors mounted, and perform TPMS calibration on both indirect and direct TPMS.
Lesson 3- Rotate Tires1 Week (50-minute class periods)
Locate service information for tire rotation pattern, locate service information for lug nut specification, rotate tires according to service information and side wall markings, torque lug nuts to the proper specification and torque pattern according to service information, and inspect tire tread depth and irregular wear.
Lesson 5- Wheel Bearing2 Weeks (50-minute class periods)
Identify and describe theory of operation of ball bearings, identify and describe theory of operation of double ball bearings, identify and describe theory of operation of roller bearings, identify and describe theory of operation of tapper roller bearings, describe different bearing failures, inspect sealed wheel bearing, and inspect a double tapered roller bearing
Lesson 6- SLA Suspension5 Weeks (50-minute class periods)
Identify the components of a SLA suspension, describe theory of operation of SLA components, describe potential failures for a SLA suspension, and perform an inspection of a SLA suspension.
Lesson 7- McPherson Strut2 Weeks (50-minute class periods)
Identify the components of a McPherson strut suspension, describe theory of operation of McPherson strut components, describe potential failures a McPherson strut suspension, and perform an inspection of a McPherson strut suspension.
