I teach Culinary Arts, Event Planning & Management, Baking and Pastry 1, Baking and Pastry 2, and Culinary Applications at Maize Career Academy.

I’m going into my 19^th year of teaching. I’ve been at Olathe North for the three years and previously at Lansing High School for 15 years. I graduated in 2005 from Emporia State University with my BA in Business Education. I completed my Masters from Emporia State, in Business Education, in 2014. I’ve been a DECA Advisor for 17 years and started BPA at Olathe North this past year. Outside of my department, I’ve coached baseball for 13 years. In my free time, our family of six loves the outdoors and try to be outside as much as possible. 

I have been teaching at Northeast High School in Arma, Kansas since 2007. I have a bachelor's degree in marketing and a master's degree in teaching, both from PSU!! In addition to being the yearbook adviser and V.I.P. (Vikings In Production) sponsor, I teach Business Essentials, Entrepreneurship, Business Law, Business Management, Graphic Design, Applied Business Development, Consumer and Personal Finance, and Yearbook.

I started my current photography business in 2010 and added a sign painting business in 2021. I love the creative outlet and the flexibility those businesses afford me. I have been lucky enough to have done three Gorilla Gatherings with PSU alumni.

I have been married to my high school sweetheart since 1989. We have two sons, a daughter-in-law, and were blessed with an adorable grandson this year. I am blessed beyond measure to work in a great district that supports the business department and all of our projects.
