My teaching content area is Family and Consumer Sciences. I have my B.S. in FCS Education and MS in CTE.

I have previously taught Essentials of FAID and Fashion Trends. In past years, I've also managed Teaching Observation, Teaching Internship, and other FACS related internships. I am also the FCCLA adviser.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family/friends, watching or playing most sports, and traveling. I enjoy teaching students life skills that are needed throughout everyday life to be a positive role model for their current/future family and that is needed in order to become productive citizens of society.

Description
Students will explore the work and family program creating a foundation for further study that begins to prepare students for future roles as family members, wage earners, and community leaders. Students will discover the skills, knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors necessary to be successful in families, careers, and communities in today’s ever-changing society. After the basics have been taught, students will complete research in various jobs related to Family and Consumer Sciences. Introduction to Family and Consumer Sciences offers a look into the many occupations linked to providing for the basic needs of children, individuals, and families. Occupations may include nutrition educator, child care provider, social worker, foster parent, credit counselor, geriatric care provider, senior citizen care director, food service provider, restaurant manager, culinary artist, interior designer, fashion production and design, event planner, and teacher.
