About the Author

I have been teaching for the last 15 years, beginning my career as a creative writing teacher at Paseo Academy for the Performing and Visual Arts in Kansas City. I then moved to the Blue Valley School District, the district from which I graduated, to begin teaching middle school art. Most recently, I have been teaching film photography, graphic design, and digital imaging at Blue Valley North High School. I have bachelor’s degrees in English and secondary education, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, and a Ph.D. in educational technology. I currently serve as the art department chair, district high school art professional development coordinator, and frequently present and lead workshops on topics related to technology and design thinking in K12 education.
